NTV -Turning on your World
Nation Television (NTV) is the leading television station in Uganda owned by Nation Media Group with its headquarters at Kampala Serena Conference Centre. It screens soaps, documentaries, educational programs and cartoons among others. It is very informative when it comes to news. At 1:00pm, those next to a television set will have a chance to watch the English bulletin and later at 7:00pm (Akawungeenzi), the vernacular bulletin follows.

At 9:00pm is the repeat of the English news which in most cases is a lot better than the afternoon version. On Friday, you are entitled to your free doze of laughter through their version of 'Point Blank' which has taken many viewers by storm.

Other programs on NTV are Money Matters, Uganda Speaks, Rendezvous, Trickstars which has been very instrumental in sensitizing Ugandans on the various tricks that conmen use to extort money from unsuspecting individuals.

Just recently, the NTV introduced the first Mayoral Debate which had all the six candidates explaining to an audience of about 500 people what plans they had to transform Kampala into a city of international stature. They promise to do the same for the presidential race though they admit the move is late for the current presidential race.

hi I am Noreen from Maisha film lab and i will like to ask you a few questions about the documentaries you air for example: What would be good length for broadcasting documentary? what are the commercial requirements(for example how long should documentary be with adverts in between it like it take 15mins then adverts for about 5mins)? What format is best for shooting (for example what ex type of camera should be used for shoting,what are the best chips for using in the camera etc)? What is a reasonable budget for east Africa (for example what would be the minimum cost for shooting a documentary and what would be the expenses etc...)? Thanks for airing the repeat of MARIMAR.I love every program me you air, they are educative and interesting most especially TRICK STARS, its really an eye opener to most of us who knew less about the tricks used by con men. Thank you NTV.

Hi NTV, I really love the station and all its programmes especially the soaps, news, akawungezi, spot on, tuwaye and many others. Please keep up being the best station in Uganda. My only complain is "The signal in Soroti is not clear, please do something to help us get NTV clearly so that we can also enjoy watching you. I wish you the best. Mabel
