St Anthony Restaurant, Lumumba Avenue
Located on plot 23 Lumumba Avenue after TWED Plaza opposite the NSSF building under construction by Roko on your way to the French Embassy. It is arguably the best place for local food in Kampala.

It is not a cafeteria system and that is why orders take a bit of time. If you have a bit if time on you then you can try them but once in a hurry then you might easily be frustrated. Once the food is delivered, in most cases you forget about the over waiting and you simply concentrate on the food.

St Anthony's menu has literally all the food from Matooke, yams, potatoes, greens, groundnut stew in fish and Gnuts, rice, beef plus 'akalo'. You can have all that at  Shs 10,000/- A soft drink normally goes for 1,000/- but if you have to go for passion juice, then the big glass will go for Shs 4,000/- and 2,500 for the small one.

It is one place where politicians, artistes, and other Kampala socialites are seen having lunch. The parking area is relatively safe as there is a guard at all times to keep watching over the cars, then when it rains, the staff will provide giant umbrella's just to ensure that you get to your vehicle un soaked.

If you love food without oil and organic at that and not forgetting too much food, then St. Anthony might as well work for you. Tip: If you are with a child, then there is no need ordering for an extra plate because food for one person can as well be shared between two people.

The culture of tipping is slowly taking shape in Uganda but since customer care is found missing in most of these places, then tipping will not come that easy. However, if one is satisfied with the service, then there is no point one should not tip most especially if they are compelled to do so.
